Chinese Human Rights Defenders
Locations negotiable; part time, fixed term consultancy

The Network of Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) is seeking applicants for a development consultant.

The development consultant will work in close cooperation with the co-Executive Directors.

Key services:

  • Identifying and cultivating new sources of individual, foundation, and government funding;
  • Designing and carrying out tailored fundraising campaigns, events, and outreach;
  • Working with the organization’s board to identify new prospects; and
  • Reaching out to donors and prospects.

Qualifications include:

Education: Bachelor’s degree and five years’ relevant work experience.

Professional experience:

  • Five years securing new funding and managing grants for international human rights work;
  • Superior organizational skills;
  • Ability to self-motivate and manage; and
  • Demonstrated commitment to working as a member of a team.

Related skills and knowledge:

  • Demonstrated success in human rights fundraising;
  • Strong commitment to human rights and/or China;
  • An entrepreneurial approach to fundraising; and
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Contractual payment: 

CHRD offers competitive, negotiated consultancy fees.
