CHRD Submits Follow-up Report to UN Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights

In its March 2023 concluding observations of its third periodic review of China, the Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights asked the government for information on progress towards fulfilling four recommendations. 中国政府没有采取有效措施来消除针对妇女的性暴力。作为《消除对妇女一切形式歧视公约》的缔约国，中国政府无视《公约》规定的义务，《公约》要求各国有效解决针对妇女和女童的基于性别的暴力（GBV）并提供有实际意义的补救措施。事实上，中国官方人员经常实施这种暴力—-从警察对女性人权维护者的性虐待到新疆的 “计划生育 “官员为防止维吾尔族人生育而实施的强制堕胎和绝育。
