In Guangdong,  police took away activist Xiao Yuhui (肖育辉), raided his residence, and confiscated his electronic devices on May 27, 2020. A number of others who were in the same WeChat group with Xiao are reportedly detained as well for posting and re-posting the message “One Message per Person to Save Hong Kong” (“一人一信救香港”). They are being held at the Yuantongqiao Police Station in Huizhou City. Xiao’s mother went to the police station two days later and the guards confirmed that Xiao was held there. One woman disclosed her release on May 28 on bail waiting for trial. It is unclear what crime they are suspected by police to have committed.
