Activist Cao Shunli (曹顺利) tragically passed away on March 14, 2014, after being held in detention for five months and denied adequate medical treatment. She had worked tirelessly to push Chinese authorities, without success, to allow civil society participation in the drafting of China’s human rights reports to the United Nations. She faced numerous reprisals as a result. This documentary is a look at her life, activism, and tragic death, and includes interviews with her lawyer, Wang Yu (王宇) and fellow activists and friends.
